My name is Alan Rosenquist and I work with Marine Terminals between Operations, IT & Applications teams, and software vendors.
I started in 2011 at San Pedro’s APL Pier 300 and have worked on multiple solutions such as Crane OCR, Mi Jack and Kalmar PDS, and Yard Wireless. By year 7 I was working on my first TOS replacement project as Application lead.
Coming from a mature and customized TOS, I initially underestimated the amount of work required both inside the application and the broader operation. That is a common problem and it takes someone who has seen the bigger picture to call them out and prioritize solutions.
Since then I have participated in multiple Marine Terminal TOS projects where my experience has saved time, created new discussion, and positively impacted the project.
Today, I do independent consulting work.
Data All Day works with companies to solve business problems. From Lead Project Manager all the way to boots on the ground manager training in N4 and XPS. I have the practical experience to help your TOS deployment.
Experience
Since 2010 I’ve been working in Maritime. I have nearly 10 years working for Pier 300, 6 of them in a lead IT/Application position. Engaging with operations and vendors to design requirements, test use-cases, deploy and maintain container appointment systems, GOS, gate and crane ocr, equipment position detection systems, yard inventory tablets and applications, business processes involving EDI configurations. I have worked with multiple Marine Terminals in Los Angeles/Long Beach California area and across the United States in roles from Project Management, business process documentation, testing manager, user training, and vendor management.
In my years, I have many lessons learned from small and large scale projects.
